All bedding plants grown at Midway are hardened off to become acclimatised with the local prevailing conditions, thus ensuring they are not ‘shocked’ when planted out for the first time. We are very careful about how we treat our plants, whether they are on display or behind the scenes in our tunnels. We hope to always offer top quality plants for these reasons.
Many things such as all herb and vegetable plants, some herbaceous perennials and some bedding plants are actually grown by seed here at Midway. Other forms of propagation include from cuttings, grafting, from extremely small plugs and plants, by division and sometimes hardwood cuttings. As a traditional nursery we hope to achieve a good healthy growth in all plants before displaying them for sale.
