For every gardener there is a constant battle with the elements to keep your plants alive and healthy. To get the best from your garden we have a Garden Shop packed with all the things you might need to come out on top in this fight. Pesticides and organic bug sprays to deter the creepy crawlies who want first servings from your vegetables; fertilisers and plant feeds to boost the strength and vigour of the plants; nutrients to add to challenging or difficult soils, as well as something to stop the weeds from taking over. Animals can also be a problem and we’ve got everything from mousetraps to slug bait, pepper dust to mole traps.
If you would like a treat for your lawn we have a few lawn products to help, such as lawn feed and weed, moss killers and lawn sand, with lawn seed available to buy loose. Maybe you need tools to help keep everything in trim – secateurs, spades, forks, trowels, hoes, loppers, shears – our tool corner may provide the right one. We are stockists for Darlac as well as Spear & Jackson tools. We do not stock any power tools.
Come in and have a look at our wide range of seeds including herbs, a good range of vegetables, flowers, wild flower seed and green manure seed. We sell seed potatoes at the beginning of the year and have bulbs for Spring and Autumn sowing, as well as garlic bulbs (seasonal), onion sets, shallots and loose vegetable seed such as pea, runner beans and broad beans in season.

CHRISTMAS
Our hand-made wreaths are as popular as ever. Made from locally sourced moss, conifer and holly with real berries, these make a memorable decoration. As well as wreaths we have a selection of picks, glitter decorations, floral decorations and floristry rings to help you make your own Christmas wreaths or table displays. We have locally grown Christmas trees, both non-drop and Norway Spruce traditional variety on sale, some potted but most of them cut, from nearby Llandegley and Builth Wells (sold from 1st December until Christmas eve). Tree stands and tubs are also available in the Garden Shop.
COMPOST
Outside the Garden Shop is our compost area, where we stock the full range of bags. We have found from experience that good compost is vital in supporting and maintaining high quality plants, and therefore have chosen our suppliers carefully after testing their product on our own plants here at Midway. We also keep a small stock of bark chippings, sand, horticultural coarse grit and specialist composts such as ericaceous, orchid, houseplant and seed & cutting composts. These are all available in small bags. We also stock Melcourt peat free composts. These are all subject to availability.
